Check In
Check in time is 3pm - whenever. Private parking for 4 cars is available to the left of the front of the house (Co Rd 36) and to the right of the barn (Dimmick Mountain Rd). There are motion sensor lights on the back of the house. Please enter through the back door with the smart lock. Just an FYI, the front door that faces the road is tricky to open and close, but you really shouldn't need to use it!
There is little to no cell service at the house. We suggest enabling WiFi calling on your phone and downloading a map of the surrounding area in Google Maps before you get to Denver.

*In the event that the WiFi goes out, the closest place to get cell service is at the top of Dimmick Mountain Rd (drive a few minutes up the hill). We also have a landline.
House Rules
- No shoes in the house (Floors can be cold in the winter, we recommend packing slippers!)
- No pets on furniture
- No parties, smoking or undisclosed overnight guests
- Don’t cut directly on the countertops or put food/grease down the drain
- Don't flush anything other than toilet paper and leave recovery time between multiple uses of the dishwasher, washer or shower
- Please stay within our property

Water
The water is safe to drink from the tap! The house uses well water and a septic system, which means we have to be conscious of water usage and conservation. Please don’t flush anything besides toilet paper and natural waste. Make sure to leave some recovery time between uses of the washer, dishwasher or shower.
Towels & Linens
Please be respectful of bed sheets and towels. Makeup/foundation, face medications/creams, and tanning products will stain towels. Please use the dark gray washcloths provided for removal of these products. Please avoid using regular hand/bath towels with all skin products. Housekeeping will wash all laundry. Unsalvageable linens/bath towels may be charged to the guest.
Heat
There are three heat-only thermostats: one in the downstairs bedroom controlling that room, bathroom and hallway, one in the dining room controlling the kitchen, living and dining, and one in the TV room controlling the upstairs. The bedrooms get warm at night, so we recommend turning the heat down overnight. During summer, please do not leave AC running unless bedroom is in use.
Fireplace
The living room fireplace is propane fueled and controlled by a remote. Hold down the "red power” button and the "up flame" button at the same time to turn it ON. It will click a few times and take about a minute to start up. Don't press additional buttons; just give it time. It'll sound like it's about to detonate, but it will turn on in time. Press just the "red power” button to turn it OFF. You can adjust the flame by pressing up or down on the "Up/down flame" buttons. Please don’t adjust other settings. Make sure it's off when not in use, overnight or anytime you leave the house.
Remote How-To:
Outdoors
The string lights are operated by the remote on the kitchen wall. Walk around the far side of the barn to get up into the yard, there are a few different paths and stone steps. There are grill supplies and firewood in the mud room, please replace what you use! Wood can be bought nearby (cash only) at the corner of Little Red Kill Rd and Streeter Hill Rd (towards Fleischmanns), at the corner of Kelly Corners Rd and Rt 30 (towards Margaretville), or at Freshtown. Make sure chiminea and fire pit fires are doused with water and stirred when unattended. *Please ALWAYS make sure to put the umbrella down when not in use or during any windy weather.
To use the charcoal chimney for the grill, ball up some newspaper and stuff it into the bottom of the chimney. Then set the chimney upright on the grill and pour charcoal into the open top. Light the paper on fire through the ventilation holes along the bottom. Once all the charcoal is lit (should take about 20 minutes), and there are small flames appearing at the top of the chimney, remove the grill grate and dump the charcoal into the bottom of the grill. Replace the grill grate and cook.
TV, Sonos & Record Player
The TV is a smart TV, so simply turn it on and sign into your accounts for whatever apps or streaming services you subscribe to. To use the wireless Sonos stereo system, just open whatever streaming services you subscribe to and select any of the speakers from right inside the Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, etc. apps. You should be able to do everything from your phone, but if you need, there are physical Play/Pause and volume controls on every speaker as well. To use the record player, you need to download the Sonos app. Connect to the home network within the Sonos app, then tap the music note icon in the tab bar. Select “Line In,” then when you’re taken to the next screen, select the speaker group. To use the record player, place a record on the platter, then turn on the switch on the left side. Once the record is spinning (and cue lever is raised), move the tone arm to the edge of the record. Then, lower the cue lever to slowly lower the needle onto the record. THE PLATTER WON’T STOP SPINNING AFTER A RECORD IS FINISHED. When you need to flip the record or you’re finished listening, raise the cue lever to lift the needle off the record and replace the tone arm back into its cradle. Then turn the record player off with the switch on the left.
